WordPress is not about templates. It’s about quality architecture, scalability, and control.
My approach to developing websites and web applications on WordPress differs by avoiding popular solutions. Instead, I start the development of each new project almost from scratch, using my own starter theme, which I have been developing and improving for over ten years. I believe it is right to select a solution for the task, not the other way around. Therefore, this frees me from the limitations of WordPress out of the box and allows me to develop everything from simple landing pages “in a day” to complex CRM systems with custom business logic, user roles, automations, and integrations with external services.
WordPress works well only when the structure is properly built. I lay the groundwork for scaling at the design stage:
custom post types and taxonomies
well-thought-out data structure
separation of logic, templates, and styles
preparation for increased load
With the right approach and ongoing project support, this allows for development without painful modifications in the future.
When standard capabilities are not enough, I implement custom functionality:
user accounts and roles
CRM logic within WordPress
integrations with APIs, payment systems, automation services
complex filters, catalogs, dashboards
Solutions are written for a specific business process based on years of development and with the cleanest code possible, which ultimately allows for an optimized and fast-performing WordPress site.
I optimize WordPress not “after,” but immediately (because, as a rule, “after” is almost too late):
fast page loading
proper performance under load
basic protection from common vulnerabilities
clean, controlled code
This directly affects SEO, conversion, and project stability.
The admin panel should help, not hinder. I configure it so that:
content can be edited without the fear of breaking something
fields and sections of the admin panel are maximally logical and understandable
the team works cohesively and quickly
If necessary, I use ACF (Advanced Custom Fields PRO), custom Gutenberg blocks, or entirely custom solutions.
WordPress can be simple, fast, and powerful — it all depends on the approach. If you need a site that works for your business, scales without costing a fortune, and doesn’t break when updating plugins — it’s worth laying the right foundation from the very beginning.
